What we do

We raise awareness of our work through regular newsletters and our annual Supporters’ Day. We also provide funding to the Modawa Institute and support the local church through our Small Grants Programme, and we host visitors from Papua New Guinea.

This work is coordinated by our voluntary Committee, which meets four times a year at the Anglican Communion Office in London.

(1) Awareness raising

We publish three newsletters each year: at Easter, during the summer and before Christmas. To receive copies by post, or to be notified when a newsletter is published online, please email us at pngcpoffice@gmail.com.

Past editions of the newsletter are available in our online archive.

Our Supporters’ Day is held annually, usually in September. In recent years it has taken place at the Anglican Communion Office. If you would like to receive an invitation, please email us at pngcpoffice@gmail.com.

(2) Funding

We continue to provide core (unrestricted) funding to the Modawa Institute of Higher Education, the Anglican Church’s theological college and centre for teacher and health worker training.

We have also recently launched a Small Grants Programme to support the work of the local church, including parishes, Mothers’ Union groups, healthcare centres and schools.

(3) Visitors

We welcome and support visiting bishops, clergy, and their spouses from Papua New Guinea during their time in the UK. This often includes arranging visits to supporting parishes and meetings with supporters across the country.
